On March, 13 2014 a long-awaited opening of the exhibition of Allrus Gallery "Austria though the Eyes of Modern Russian Artists" took place in the Viennese Bank Austria Kunst Forum, which has been organized within the framework of the intergovernmental Program of the cultural seasons Austria-Russia 2013-2015.
The exhibition’s preparation has taken almost three years (2010-2013). Within this period Austria has been visited by 14 famous Russian painters invited by Allrus gallery to take part in the plein airs in Vienna and other country lands. As a result of this project the painters have created 125 paintings and drawings which have built up the exhibition’s exposition. The greeting speeches to a lot of high ranking exhibition’s guests have been held by: the project’s curator, the Head of the department of painting of XVIII-XIX centuries of the world famous Russian museum “Tretyakov gallery” Lyudmila Markina, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Austrian Republic Sergey Nechayev, the President of the Austrian-Russian Frendship Society (ORFG) Ludwig Scharinger, the General Secretary of the ORFG Florian Stermann, the Director of Allrus Gallery and the project’s author Roman Fedchin.
The design and the publishing of the catalogue have been implemented under the curatorship and guidance of the leading Arts Critic and Coeditor of the “Tretyakov Gallery” Magazine Natella Voyskunskaya.
